Step 1

Get a quote and book your order

If you're wondering how to ship a car across the country or to any other destination, the first step is getting a quote. Contact Breeze Auto Transport today for your free, instant quote. You can use our quick online quote calculator, which only takes a few minutes, or speak directly with one of our shipping advisors by calling 424-424-3974 or using our Live Chat feature. When you reach out, we’ll ask for a few basic details: the pick-up and delivery locations (city and state), your vehicle’s make, model, and year, and whether it’s running or not. Additionally, you’ll choose your preferred shipping method and provide the date your vehicle will be ready, known in the industry as the First Available Pick-up Date.

When deciding how to ship a car to another state or beyond, you can choose between open and enclosed auto transport. Open car transport is the most common and cost-effective option, where your vehicle is transported on an open trailer. While your car is exposed to the elements, this method is still very safe and secure, used by 80% of our customers. If you want maximum protection for your vehicle, enclosed auto transport is the best choice. Your car will be transported in a covered trailer, safeguarding it from dirt, debris, moisture, salt, and weather.

However, this added protection comes at a higher price, typically 30-40% more than open transport. Owners of luxury, custom, classic, and antique cars often prefer enclosed transport for its superior protection. When getting a quote from Breeze Auto Transport, rest assured that it's all-inclusive, covering taxes, fees, and full insurance. You won’t be pressured into anything further, as there are no upfront payments, and we offer convenient door-to-door service. Another important aspect of our service is our price match promise. If you receive a lower quote from a direct competitor, let us know, and we’ll do our best to match it. Reach out anytime to discuss how we can meet your needs and expectations.

Step 2

We pick up your vehicle

Step #2 in shipping your car is the pick-up. The assigned carrier will contact you a few hours before arrival to let you know they're on their way. At that point, you'll need to confirm that the pick-up location is accessible for large commercial vehicles. Beforehand, check for any potential obstacles like low-hanging branches, overhead power lines, or other restrictions that could prevent the truck and trailer from reaching your location. If access is an issue, don’t worry—you can easily arrange a more convenient location nearby. For example, you might choose a wider street, your workplace, or a nearby parking lot for the pick-up.

When the carrier arrives to pick up your vehicle, both you and the driver will inspect it for any pre-existing damage, such as dents, scratches, or dings. These details will be noted on the Bill of Lading, which you’ll sign to confirm the accuracy. You'll be given a copy of this important document to keep safe, as you’ll need it later to compare the vehicle's condition upon delivery. Once the paperwork is complete, you’re almost ready for the final step in shipping your car. Before the carrier departs, you can watch as they carefully load your vehicle onto the auto transport trailer. During your car's journey, you can track its progress through regular updates via email, Live Chat, or phone, and you can also contact the driver directly for updates.

Step 3

You receive your vehicle

Shipping a car is a quick and straightforward process. Before you know it, the carrier will contact you a few hours before arriving at the delivery location. This courtesy call ensures you’re available to receive your vehicle. If you’re unavailable, don’t worry—you can appoint a third party to accept the car on your behalf. The person must be 18 years or older, and they can be a friend, relative, neighbor, or even a work colleague. When your vehicle is unloaded, the driver will ask you to inspect it and compare its condition with the Bill of Lading. If you opted for the Discounted Price payment option, this is when you'll make the final payment to the driver, using either cash, a money order, or a cashier’s check.
